Trends is a new five-level course in American English for post-secondary students. The course is based on the latest reform (RIEMS), and its innovative methodology ensures students will be qualified to put their knowledge and skills into practice in everyday situations. The authentic, trend-setting material takes into account the six generic competencies, which are highlighted using easily identifiable icons. The competencies allow students to evaluate how they feel about what is happening in the world today, and to collaborate with others in solving problems, conducting surveys, and planning different courses of action. Learners will also practice investigative skills by researching information on the internet, and communicative skills by reporting their findings. Trends helps students become responsible for their own learning.
